"Interior Accessories of Feminine Gender"
The project is a consequence of the author's experimental fashion actions that remained iconic after the end of the 90s: "My wedding dresses on the roof" from 1998, "Ladies' carpet" from 2006 and "Self-portrait" from 2008.
The project is an action - a performance developing in an installation. The action presents the disassembly of wedding dresses and their transformation into original, functional, feminine interior accessories:
mats, doormats, duvets, pillows, etc. with the label FAC (Fashion Art Center) Mariela Gemisheva. "The brand FAC can be interpreted not only as ``Fashion Art Center'' but as ``Frequently Ask Question'' or if you wish as another popular English word starting with F.'' - quote from a publication by Vasilena Mircheva in a magazine LIC, October 2010.
The project contains an idea for a change in the traditional relationship with ritual clothes and in particular the cult bridal dress, provoking a different attitude towards the thus established symbol of "purity, chastity, obedience" or towards the "mandatory women's wedding uniform". It develops in two stages:
1st: Action - performance in 3 days: June 19, 20, 21
II stage: Development of performance in an installation in 7 days: June 21-28
Assistants on the project are Petya Baleva and Victoria Dineva, 3rd year students of FASHION at the National Academy of Arts
