OLD FASHION FASHION 2010 /History of one's own wardrobe/
project of FAC MARIELA GEMISHEVA
21.12. 2009, Monday at 7 p.m.
The new project of the famous designer Mariela Gemisheva and her Fashion Art Center FAC presents a collection of clothes constructed from silk batiste, linen, velvet and fringes, which are the basis of the traditional northern costume.
Mariela Gemisheva is known for her research on the boundaries of fashion, which she realizes in the form of non-standard catwalks, performances with the participation of professional models and photo shoots dedicated to herself. Mariela Gemisheva's "events" often take place in unexpected spaces and rely on atypical visual means - destroyed buildings and sculptural elements, torn clothes and worn firefighter uniforms, provocative unisex elements and a marked eroticism of deconstructed underwear.
The Old Fashion Fashion project, season 2010, on the stage of "Sfumato" is a one-man show by Maria Sylvester, behind which the fashion show is "disguised". Gemisheva and FAC designers Jelena Kesic and Boyan Petrushevski analyze the relationship between essence and image, between personality and camouflage, between fashion and theater. They make the famous public figure demonstrate his relationship "with" and "to" 12 unique silhouettes, classic wearable clothes, quite frankly - on stage, under the spotlight and in front of the (un)prejudiced viewer.
